Layer Cockerals

At Heritage poultry we also hatch and raise laying strains of poultry and obviously only hens lay eggs. The cockerels from these strains usually have no value to the industry but our cockerels are raised and will be avialble to purchase around five months of age making use of a usually wasted resource. They dont have the amount of breast meat as regular meat chickens or Joyce`s Gold birds but the breast meat they do have and the large amount of leg meat has great texture due to their increased activity and traditional flavour that is ideally suited to many cuisines.
